The Opportunity
- Lead water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects from initial design through permitting, bidding, construction, and closeout.
- Design, review, and seal engineering plans for water distribution systems, wells, storage tanks, treatment facilities, and related utility infrastructure.
- Manage TCEQ permitting, submittals, regulatory reviews, and compliance requirements.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, deliverables, contractor coordination, and construction support.
- Prepare bid documents, assist with public procurement, evaluate contractor submissions, and support clients throughout project execution.
- Serve as a primary technical contact for municipalities, rural water organizations, utilities, and public-sector stakeholders.
- Coordinate with designers and technical staff to maintain quality and project schedules.
- Attend client and board meetings, site inspections, and field visits throughout Texas.
- Mentor junior engineers, EITs, technicians, and drafting staff while helping improve engineering processes and supporting business growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Active Texas PE license with the ability to review and seal engineering plans.
- 6–8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
- Background in water/wastewater, municipal utilities, public works, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience with TCEQ permitting, regulatory submissions, and approval processes.
- Knowledge of water distribution, wells, storage facilities, treatment plants, and related systems.
- Demonstrated project management experience covering design, bidding, client coordination, construction, and delivery.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable civil design software.
- Strong communication, organization, client-management, and technical leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Texas.
Preferred
- Experience working with municipalities, rural water supply organizations, utilities, or public agencies.
- Background as a Water/Wastewater Engineer, Municipal Engineer, Civil PE, or Project Manager.
- Public-sector bidding and infrastructure funding experience.
- Business development and client relationship-building experience.
- Experience mentoring or supervising engineering and design staff.
