The Opportunity
- Lead mechanical engineering and multidisciplinary building design projects, primarily within the healthcare sector.
- Manage project delivery, budgets, quality, schedules, client communications, and overall commercial performance.
- Provide technical leadership in HVAC systems, including airside systems, hydronic heating/cooling plants, and specialty exhaust systems.
- Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentation materials with a focus on sustainable and resilient building solutions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering staff while supporting hiring and team growth across the Houston and regional teams.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat business and future projects.
- Lead proposals, bids, contract negotiations, and other business-development activities.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, and code officials throughout design and construction.
- Support multidisciplinary collaboration and represent the organization in professional and industry associations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
- Active U.S. Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- 12+ years of experience designing commercial building HVAC systems, including airside and hydronic systems.
- Significant healthcare engineering experience, particularly inpatient and critical-care facilities such as academic medical centers, specialty hospitals, and community hospitals.
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, IHE, LEED, indoor air quality, and NFPA standards.
- Proven experience leading complex, multidisciplinary projects and managing key client relationships.
- Demonstrated success in business development, winning projects, and managing commercial relationships.
- Strong people leadership skills with experience mentoring, developing, and managing engineering teams.
- Ability to connect clients, external stakeholders, and internal technical disciplines to deliver integrated projects.
