The Opportunity
- Lead engineering design and project assignments with limited supervision, applying sound engineering principles and industry standards.
- Manage technical work from initial planning through final design, coordinating schedules, resources, and project deliverables.
- Review surveys, maps, aerial imagery, geotechnical information, and other technical data to support project planning and design.
- Perform engineering calculations, develop designs, and produce plans using industry-specific design software.
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, plans, and engineer’s estimates for bidding and construction.
- Coordinate internal engineering disciplines, consultants, and project resources to maintain schedules, quality, and project objectives.
- Work directly with clients, attend project meetings, and support proposals, contract modifications, and additional work opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while setting expectations, coaching team members, and supporting professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Strong proficiency with discipline-specific engineering/design software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written, verbal, and client communication skills.
- PennDOT project experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with county and state government clients preferred.
